Wendy's Cat Sitting in Bath

When you are away, you need to be able to relax in the knowledge that your pets are safe and happy. Cats are territorial creatures. They have spent time making an area theirs and feeling at ease there. We don't want our animals to feel stressed or unhappy while we are away, and this is why it is so important that they can be cared for in their own home environment.

...And this is where a reliable and trusted cat sitting service comes into its own.

Come Home To a Happy cat...

About me

I have homed and adored cats (and other animals) all my life and so have been through all the ups and downs that being a pet owner brings. I have also spent many weekends over several years volunteering at the Bath Cats' and Dogs' home, undertaking home visits, cuddling cats, fostering kittens, dog walking and even socialising with ferrets. Having owned several cats over the years, I have undertaken pretty much anything that you can think of including some very unsavoury tasks! But pets are like children, if it has to be done, you just get on and do it.

People say cats are independent creatures, and I agree, they do have their own minds and won't be told what to do, but as pets they have come to rely on our company and the safe environment that we provide them with. I would never feel happy up-rooting my cat while I was away and leaving them in a strange environment with different smells and sounds so I understand the importance of finding the right person to take on your role when you cannot be there.

How it works

It is important the you feel happy and trust the person you choose to care for you cat when you are away so firstly I will make an appointment to come and visit you and your cat so that you can meet me to make sure you feel happy that I am the right person for you. I will then find out about your cat and what they need and like, making a note of any special instructions you have and will take a note of your vet's details in the unlikely event that they are needed while you are away.

If you have a security system, you will need to show me how this operates and then it is just a case of providing a set of house keys. Whilst you are away I am happy to open/close curtains, turn lights on/off and gather up the post so that the house still looks lived-in. If you would like other services such as your plants or garden to be watered, I am happy to do this although the cost of the visit may need to be adjusted.

After the consultation, I will e-mail confirmation of the booking and this will detail all the requirements we discussed, along with the price and payment information. I will then visit your cat as many times per day as agreed for the duration of your break, undertaking everything we have agreed and of course giving lots of fuss and attention (if that is what they like!).

How Much Does Cat Sitting Cost?

The initial meeting is free, after which the following charges apply:

Standard visits

            £9.50 - 1 visit per day*
            £14.00 - 2 visits per day*

This includes all on-site cat care requirements and I am happy to open/close curtains, turn lights on/off and gather up the post so that the house still looks lived-in.

Supplementary responsibilities

I am happy to care for your other pets, plants, garden, and wild birds. The price will be calculated depending on what is required.

Key Collection and Return

There is no charge for collecting the keys from you since this takes place during the initial consultation. Keys are usually returned at the end of each booking for no extra charge but if you would prefer me to retain a set of keys for any reason, this can be discussed.

Trip to Vet

If you would like or need your pet taking to the vet, when you are away from home at any time, the cost is £10.00 call-out and then £7.50 per hour plus any veterinary fees incurred.

*These prices apply to locations within about a 5 mile radius of my home in Peasedown St John, Bath. I am happy to travel further afield, although the price may vary depending on the distance and journey time.
